Permian Reset is a collaboration between Wooden Tree label manager Etkats (aka Tacto) and San Francisco bass and ambient artist Matthew Madrone. Friends living on different parts of the globe, they are united in their passion for deftly crafted and finely detailed beats. The four-track EP offers an original track by each artist, and two tracks where they remix each other's work. The resulting intersection of diverse techno and bass stylings offers distinct creative viewpoints, with a clear through line of dark, emotive, and wonderfully textured electronic music. Headphone junkies and dance floor denizens alike will rejoice at the coupling of thunderous beats to nuanced arrangements.
